The Power of the Small Win
Hey friends, let’s get real for a second. How many of you woke up this morning already thinking about the 7,000 things you didn’t get done yet? Bills, emails, projects, customers you need to call back… it feels never-ending, right?
Here’s the truth bomb: success in business isn’t built on the big flashy home runs. It’s built on the small, unsexy, ordinary wins you stack day after day. And if you can master celebrating those, you’ll not only move faster—you’ll feel a whole lot happier along the way.
Let me tell you a quick story. A few years ago, I was working with a small business owner who was stuck. She was chasing this giant ‘breakthrough’ moment. She thought success was going to come in one magical viral post or one massive customer order.
But you know what? That never came. What did change her business was when she shifted her focus. Instead of obsessing over the ‘big win,’ she decided to just track her small wins daily. One new follower. One new email collected. One new customer.
And do you know what happened? Within 90 days, she had doubled her sales. Not from a single lightning bolt moment—but from compounding tiny wins stacked one on top of the other.
That’s the power of momentum. Small wins create big shifts.
So why do small wins matter so much? Three reasons:
- They Build Confidence:
Each small win reminds your brain: I can do this. Confidence doesn’t come from success—it comes from progress. - They Create Momentum:
Ever notice how serving one customer makes it easier to serve five? How creating one reel, makes it easier to create two, three, five, ten?I am on a mission to gain more muscle. I’m so tired of yoyo dieting. I lose weight, get really thin, then gain it back, then lose it. So, I hired a wellness coach and together we have shifted my focus and my goals from weight loss to muscle gain. The more veggies and protein I eat in the morning, makes it easier to replicate that at lunch and dinner and then the next day and the next day. When I stopped measuring weight loss and starting measuring muscle mass… the momentum built, and I wanted to be in my gym more often. - They Rewire Your Focus:
Instead of chasing the overnight success, you start appreciating and chasing the small daily wins that actually create success.
Think of it this way: Olympic athletes don’t become champions by winning gold on day one. They win by stacking thousands of small training wins, each one invisible to the world. But together? That’s what creates greatness.
And so it is with business. You don’t turn on your camera and do a live selling show and make a million dollars your first show. You might not even have more than 5 viewers your first show.
But ask anyone who is making over a million dollars in LIVE video selling shows, and they will tell you all the tiny wins the tiny growth that happened over time.
The secret to speeding up the process is celebrating those wins.
When you focus on what you can do today, you start stacking proof that you’re moving forward. And business is just that—forward motion, even if it’s one baby step at a time. This is how it is for everything whether you want to lose weight, run a marathon, make a million dollars in your business or make 5 million dollars if you’re already making one.
Here’s your big takeaway today: Stop chasing the giant leap. Start celebrating the baby steps.
And we’re missing a space in between the question mark and the words at:
